Sacrifice is what it is all about.
Our club trains to compete.
That translates to 5 days a week, 12 rounds of jumping rope, shadow boxing and heavy bag work AS A WARM-UP.
This is followed up by intense conditioning routines designed to increase strength,
maximize flexibility and bring the athlete to unknown levels of cardio thresholds.
This will include, but not limited to, weight resistance, plyometrics,
calisthenics and medicine ball routines.
Road work (running) is always a finisher for the session. Running will vary from day to day in the form of long runs,
short sprints, stair climbing and whatever else I come up with for your enjoyment.
Sacrifice is what it is all about.
Dietary habits will change. Progress will be limited to your ability eat right.
Its a simple plan, eat right or lose. Its that simple.
When will you compete?
That is entirely up to the athlete. How bad does he or she want it. Sacrifice your time and effort and it will come to you soon.
Heres the plan:
1. Be coachable
2. Be part of a team of like minded individuals
3. Be willing to sacrifice, no excuses accepted
To be eligible for sparring and competition you will need to be registered as a boxer with USA Boxing.
You will need two (2) passport sized photos, a photocopy of your birth certificate and money order for $40 made out to USA of VA (this is an annual certification)
To start training all you need is your regular old work out gear, nothing fancy.
As your training progresses I can steer you towards the equipment you need for daily training and competition.
DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON CHEAP GEAR!
It will only cost you more money.
